"Spirit of the Universe"
This series of paintings is inspired by photographs of deep space. When I pour patterns of liquid colour, the images that emerge are very different from the photos. However, the completed images evoke the same sense of mystery and energy with a sense of spontaneous creation. The challenge is to then manipulate shapes and value to provide depth and surface variation while respecting the integrity of the initial interaction of colours. My goal is to create a space of energy, movement and colour.
