"Dreamscapes" began as an exercise in poured paint.  I started the series with the non-objective "Breathing Under Water".  As they progressed, the paintings took on evermore realistic features as I discovered trees and mountains taking shape on the canvas, so that the final painting in the series, "Sweet grass Spirit" is the most realistic of them all.

Poured paint is unpredictable and often as much a surprise to the artist as to the viewers.  The titles of the paintings reflect my emotional response to the finished paintings.  I invite the viewers to reject my titles and find their own dreams there.

All of the paintings in the series are 24x30 inch acrylic on canvas, $400.

"Under African Skies"

I called the first of this series Jumpers.  Then someone who had recently been in Africa suggested that they looked a little like Zulu warriors dancing under the hot sun and so some of the titles were changed to reflect that.

After playing with this series for over a year, I realized with surprise that I was using a similar technique as Jackson Pollock for his famous "drip" paintings - but on a smaller scale, and much less intense. ( I'm not quite as obsessive as he was )
